Bristol Airport - Terminal

Bristol Airport was opened in 1957 replacing the former Bristol Whitchurch Airport.

From 1997 to 2010 was also known as Bristol International Airport, which from then was changed to just Bristol Airport and with the slogan “Amazing journeys start here”.

The terminal was remodelled, beginning the works in 1997 and opened in March 2000, reaching for the first time the milestone of a million of passengers (2 million passengers in total). On 2006 there was stablished further works that will go on until 2030.

The airport offers plenty of direct and connected flights worldwide and few domestic flights within the country, featuring the following destinations: Amsterdam, Dublin, Edinburgh, Palma de Mallorca, Málaga, Alicante, Glasgow, Faro, Belfast and Geneva.

Regarding the Airport, it has just one single terminal divided into 3 different levels with capacity of 4 million passengers.

Please be aware of the gate number and boarding time of your flight on flight information screens since in Bristol Airport there is any voice advice regarding boarding and gate closure.

Connections within the Terminal

There is a 450m walkaway in the ground level that connects the terminal to pre-boarding zones (8).

There is a central walkaway in the first level with 4 pre-boarding zones that gives service to 6 departure gates.
Stairs and elevators connects the Mezzanine level with the ground and the first level.

Connections with the Parking zone

There is a 24-hour bus which takes you from the Terminal to the parking zone. Trip is about 4-5 minutes.

Levels

Terminal facilities are divided into 3 levels:

- Ground level: Domestic and international arrivals lounge (domestic flights have their own arrivals lounge), immigration / passport control, check-in desks, airlines self-service kiosks (6), ticket desk, baggage reclaims area, out of size baggage, information counter, post box, cash dispensers, bars & restaurants, smoking-allowed areas, services & amenities.

- First level: departure lounges, Fast track security, security check, shopping hall, currency exchange, smoking-allowed area, duty free shops, conference facilities, ATMs, services & amenities, special assistance zones, bars & restaurants, games zone, access to boarding gates 1-7 and gates 23-25.

- Mezzanine: Food & eat, executive lounge (2), services & amenities, roof terrace. Access to gates 8-16.
